Eco-Socialism (shortened to EcoSoc) is an Envi.png environmentalist, Leftunity.png economically left-wing and otherwise varied ideology. He believes that the reduction of CO2 emissions and socialist-style economics are complementary, as pollution is the result of mainly Cap.png Capitalist commodity production.

It is very close to Soc.png Socialism economically, but more varied in other ways. It believes that Cap.png Capitalism will destroy the planet and that we need to have a revolution. Unlike Ecofash.png Eco-Fascism, it believes all people should be treated equally. But it also believes in extreme environmentalism.

    Foundations and Beliefs

    Economics

Eco-Socialism believes in the abolition of Cap.png Capitalism, in the belief that it puts profits over the environment and the establishment of a socialist economy that is environmentally sensitive and sustainable. It can range anywhere from being PlannedEconomy.png centrally planned to being organized around worker Cooperative Socialism.png co-ops.

    Civics

Eco-Socialism is, most of the time, found around the Leftunity.png left centre of the political compass; around the center of the civic axis on the left. But this may not always be the case.

Some Eco-Socialists may have more Authleft.png authoritarian views, while others may be more Libleft.png libertarian in their politics. Largely depends on who you ask.

    Culture

Exactly the same as the civics of Eco-Socialism, their cultural values could vary. While most people on the left, including Eco-Socialists, are generally Prog-u.png progressive, you could, from time to time, run into people who are more Conservative.png conservative or Trad.png traditional.

    Variants

    GreensUS.png American Greenism

GreensUS.png American Greenism is an ideology based on the values of the Green Party of the United States. Its ideals are based on the rejection of Cap.png Capitalism and Statesoc.png State Socialism, and embracement of Bckchn.png Libertarian Municipalism, Ecosoc.png Ecological Socialism, and Economic Mutalist.png Mutualism, with state companies dominating various sectors in a democratic way and with small private sector companies. Many Greens consider themselves Libsoc.png Libertarian Socialists, including the 2020 presidential candidate, Lpop.png Howie Hawkins.

    Values

On top of the Four Pillars of green politics which include Envi.png ecological wisdom, Socjust.png social justice, Directdem.png grassroots democracy and Antiimp.png nonviolence, the Green Party also has a set of Ten Key Values that expand on the concept which include the following extra: Confed.png decentralization, Libms.png community-based economics, PostColFem.png feminism and gender equality, Multicult.png respect for diversity, Ecoglob.png personal and global responsibility and Ecosoc.png future focus on sustainability.

    Domestic Policy

They were the first to push for a "Green New Deal" (originally created by European Greens), which would be for a transition to 100% green energy along with a carbon tax, in addition to others, including increased jobs, and an Lpop.png Economic Bill of Rights. Services that would be for free include Univhealth.png single-payer healthcare, UBI.png universal basic income, all public (including higher) education, child care, and urban mass transit. Goods and services that would be available at low cost would include public housing, power, broadband, and water.

Other positions would include strong opposition to privatization, canceling student debt, the right to contraceptives and Abort.png abortions, access to medical treatment for Trans.png transgender people and protecting other Gay.png LGBTQ+ rights, protecting Totlib.png animal rights, promoting Secular.png secularism and the separation of church and state, reparations to AfricanAmerican.png African Americans, NarcoCom.png legalization of marijuana and ending the "War on Drugs", repeal of three strike laws, end of death penalty, and banning private prisons.

    Economy Libms.png

The eco-socialist economy the Green Party of the United States wants to create is similar to the market socialist Mutalist.png mutualist economics of |Proudhon which consists of a large sector of democratically controlled public enterprises, a large sector of cooperative enterprises, and a smaller sector of small businesses and self-employed. Consumer goods and services would be sold to consumers in the market by cooperatives, public enterprises, and small businesses. The party will also create cooperative banks offering low interest somewhat similar to Proudhon's Mutualist banks.

    Foreign Policy Antiimp.png

The Green Party adapts Pac.png Pacifism and Globnat.png Alter-Globalism. The Green Party supports a ban on arms sales to foreign countries, banning nuclear testing, cutting the military budget in half, cutting foreign aid to countries with poor LGBTQ+ rights records, support for the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, signing the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty, the Iran nuclear deal, and the Non-Proliferation Treaty.

    Power Distribution

Green ideology emphasizes participatory democracy and the principle of "thinking globally, acting locally." As such, the ideal Green Party is thought to grow from the bottom up, from neighborhood to municipal to (eco-)regional to national levels as inspired by Bckchn.png Libertarian Municipalism. The goal is to rule by a consensus decision making process as practiced in Demcon.png Democratic Confederalism.

    Corbynism-ball.png Corbynism

Corbynism-ball.png Corbynism is based on the political positions of Cball-UK.png British MP Corbynism-ball.png Jeremy Corbyn, who was also a former leader of the opposition, former leader of the UKLab.png Labour Party and former chairman of the Pac.png Stop the War Coalition, also responsible for a Leftpop-0.png left-wing political fandom called "Corbynmania". He has already stated in an interview that he read Karl Marx.png Marx a lot, but not that much and some consider him "far left". Its ideals are based on protecting the environment in a "spiritual" way, with strong regulation of the environment and an economy against private investment, the salary of 10 pounds an hour, nationalization and re-nationalization of private companies, increased public spending to £500bn, rising inflation, subsidizing regional development, recovering losses from tax evasion and reducing tax benefits by around £93bn.

Other positions could be Republicanismpix.png Republicanism (personally, does not want to actually remove the monarchy), legalization of abortion, opposition to the Anglo-Irish Agreement, being in favor of a united Cball-Ireland.png Ireland, opposition to Sep.png Separatism in Cball-Scotland.png Scotland (but in favor of self-determination), pro-same-sex marriage, making protesting outside the abortion clinic a criminal offense, end of tuition fees in education, a lite Euroscept.png Euroscepticism, as he has praised the Cball-EU.png EU a few times. One of the best known positions is his Pac.png pacifism, in which he is in favor of nuclear disarmament and the end of Necon.png NATO, because according to him the end of the WarsawPact.png Warsaw Pact negates the need for NATO to exist, he also opposes the Cball-US.pngCball-UK.pngNecon.png invasion of Iraq Hussein.png and blames Necon.png NATO for the Cball-Russia.pngRashism.pngPutin.png Russian invasion of Ukraine Cball-Ukraine.pngZelensky.png. He supports Palestine and has even talked to members of Hamas.png Hamas and Khom.png Hezbollah, he is also against Cball-Kosovo.png Kosovo, sympathetic to the Tamil Tigers, against sanctions on Cball-Iran.png Iran, joint administration in the Cball-Falklands.png Falkland Islands, in favor of the autonomy of the Chagos Islands and the Cball-IraqiKurdistan.png Kurdish people in Cball-Iraq.png Iraq and Cball-Iran.png Iran, support for diplomatic relations with Cball-North Korea.png North Korea, support for Castro.png Fidel Castro in Castro.png Cuba, Chavismo-eyes.png Hugo Chavez in Cball-Venezuela.png Venezuela and Kirch.png Cristina Kirchner in Argentina.png Argentina. He has also been accused of Anti-Semitic.png anti-Semitism.
